Blizzard in the Midwest

Chicago Public Schools are cancelled today.  This is their first snow day since 1999!!  It must be really bad.  Last night they were forcasting 12-24 inches with an average of 3-4 inches falling per hour!  There are driving bans in certain counties, meaning you'll actually get penalized if you try to go on the roads.  They were predicting snow drifts 5-8 foot deep because of the wind too!

Catherine has a snow day in Michigan, my sister's plant is closed until Thursday, and my mom slept at the hospital last night to help ensure that their are workers there for the patients today (she volunteered and is getting compensated, smart mom!).  Holy cow!  This is insane.  I prayed for snow days when I lived there but knew it would never happen.  Wow.

I hope everyone stays safe and warm.  Enjoy the relaxing day and take lots of pictures of the snow!!

Here is one picture a friend took.  Apparently there were cars driving around the South Loop last night and they got stuck.  That's what you get for trying to drive in a driving ban!!  Thanks Colleen!

Look beyond the parking lot to see.  This was at 10pm last night.

I talked to my dad this morning, and everyone is fine.  They woke up to 15+ inches and according to him, it is beautiful.
