Memorial Day Weekend

I went into this weekend with very few concrete plans.  I knew I wanted to relax, I knew I wanted to clean my house, and I knew that I wanted to see a bunch of my friends, but that's all I was thinking.  I was lucky enough to have most of the weekend off and that, was such a treat!!

Friday I coached and then met Nicole for sushi - it was such a great night.  I have been so lucky to find a friend in her.  We are going on a self-titled "Sushi Tour" of Raleigh.  This was our second stop and we plan to try a new place each time. I can't wait!

Saturday morning I woke up and headed to brunch with Sara.

early morning coffee on the way...

The brunch place was adorable and it had a shop in front.

After that I headed to the Raleigh Farmer's Market to meet up with Clarke.  I got vegetables, strawberries and some gorgeous flowers!!  I had never been before and it was perfect.

After that I headed to the pool!!  I spent a lot of time at the pool that weekend and read a lot.

Sunday I went to the pool with friends and then to a cook out at a friends house.  It was a jam-packed weekend, but oh-so-fun!  I hope you all got a chance to relax and enjoy your holiday weekend as well!

Dad's Day

Us girls lucked out with my dad.  He really is the best man I know.  Happy Father's Day!  Thank you for always supporting me, showing me what hard work is, and reminding me about the important things in life.  You give the best advice, and are always proud of me, no matter what path I choose or how far from home it takes me.  Thank you for giving me the confidence to pursue my dreams.

Can't wait to see you this week!!

Happy Father's Day to my awesome brother-in-law, Matt.  He is a pretty amazing father already, as well.

Best Friends :)

A few weeks ago we found a weekend!    That one 48 hour period where all of our schedules are free and we can get together.  To clarify, I met two of my best friends in South Carolina for a quick, but much needed visit.  We didn't do a whole lot, but it was perfect.

We went out to lunch, talked on the back deck, made a fabulous dinner and hung out on the couch laughing.

                                                              Oh hey - Tucker!

We also celebrated Sarah's birthday!!

Another perfect weekend!  Happy Birthday Sarah!

A Trip Home

For Mother's Day weekend I headed up to Chicago to spend some time with my family.  It was important to me for so many reasons and I am so glad I got to go.  My family has had a rough few months, but they have only brought us together more and made us stronger.  Both of my parents had surgeries within two months.  I am thankful that they weren't more serious and I am happy to say that while it was scary, both have recovered from and are feeling better!

My mom's surgery happened very quickly and was not expected so I did not make it home for that.  My family kept me in the loop and updated me on her progress but it was really difficult to not see her during this time.  My dad's surgery was second and it just happened to fall on the Friday of Mother's Day weekend, so I happily made the trip up for a few days.

It was such a great weekend and I was so happy that I was able to be a support to my family.  My mom and I spent hours talking and I got to spend time with my sister, brother-in-law, and favorite godson as well!  It was so refreshing and comforting to be with my family and I was so happy to be there.

We spent Friday night in the city at Paula and Matt's so we were close to the hospital.

On Saturday morning I got woken up by this little cutie!!

Saturday we headed back to the hospital to take my dad home and then we spent some time relaxing.  Paula, Ben and Matt came to the burbs to hang out, too!  It was so nice to relax, read a little, and ofcourse - hang out with Ben!

Ben is just now starting to notice Chief - and he can't get enough of him!  He chases him around and lines up for treats right along-side his furry sibling.

What can I say?  I'm obsessed with this little guy!
